I love Michael Frye’s books. They not only show you great places to photograph in Yosemite but they help you create great photographs by teaching you new skills. Take his book Digital Landscape Photography: In the Footsteps of Ansel Adams for example. It’s a great guide into the wondrous places to shoot in Yosemite while at the same time it teaches you the fundamentals of great photography like sections of light, composition, mood, and even Ansel Adam’s Zone System and how it applies to modern digital photography.
The book also contains a number of breathtaking works by Ansel Adams and other landscape masters such as Edward Weston and Elliot Porter to inspire your photography.
Go ahead and preview it on Amazon then if you decide you want to buy Digital Landscape Photography: In the Footsteps of Ansel Adams it’s only $15 on Amazon and definitely one worth having in your library.
