Where I’ve Been and Where I’m Going

| November 10, 2010

This post is completely off topic and has almost nothing to do with Yosemite. So if you’re looking for a tip on Yosemite, stop reading now. If, however, you’ve been noticing I haven’t been doing much blogging of late or posting photo or twittering then keep reading and you’ll find your answer.

The short answer is: I’ve been busy. I lost my job in December last year when the company I worked for moved out of state. I stayed here so my son could continue in his school for kids with autism. He’s been doing so well and making such improvements I couldn’t pull him out. It would have been a devastating setback.

Zac Cracking Up

So I worked freelance picking up web and graphic design jobs here and there. It paid the bills but didn’t leave much free time for anything else like camping, blogging, photography or even enjoying the outdoors. Always worrying about paying the bills and making sure I’d have a check coming in.

Finally last month a friend recommended me to a local design shop. They hired me freelance to do a website and were so impressed by my skills and knowledge they hired me as a long term contract. After only about a week as a contract employee they decided I needed to be a full time employee and I’m now the Interactive Developer/Designer for a very nice design firm with lots of very nice people. It’s a great job and I love it. I’m finally able to relax and start doing the things I enjoy again.

That’s where I’ve been. Now here’s where I’m going…

…nowhere.

I’m here for the duration folks and I’m glad to be back.

I check your blog on a daily basis during the work week. (No, I’m not a stalker). It is just the quickest and easiest way to take me to my Happy Place=Yosemite. I have noticed your absence and sincerely hoped that you weren’t losing interest. Glad to hear that things are getting back on track.
