Come spend a night in the heart of the Sierra just outside Yosemite National Park at Yosemite Pines RV Resort and Family Lodging.

An Interesting Caption

This photo was a contender for Photo of the Day when I chose Miguels photo but the caption on this one drew me back and I had to share it.

a.everpoor: josh dion taking a basking in the sun rays of early morn. walking up the cables in pitch dark and watching some random cross eyed guy in a squirrel suit fly from “diving board”. The day was already quite overwhelming.

Ok. I’m guessing that means either a base jumper or a wing suit. Anyone got any record of this? A report to rangers? Did the guy make it? If you know anything drop me a line.

I love the colors in this shot by the way. Very nice.

Wow! This is a amazing sunset/sunrise shot.

Picky point, but that part of Half Dome is really called the Visor, not the Diving Board. The Diving Board is on the west side of the rock. I explained all this (with a photo) in my May 1 Blog.

Loyd, this happens more than people guess. I’ve seen someone jump when I was at the base. I know of people who’ve jumped from many of the cliffs in Yosemite, though obviously HD and El Cap are the favorites. The whole wing suit phenom has made it more popular.

BTW, both the Visor and the Diving Board are jump points, but they are different spots.
