Photo of the Day: El Cap Reflected by Tyler Westcott

Loyd | January 18, 2008

Photo: El Capitan reflected in the Merced River surrounded by snow. Photo by Tyler Westcott.

Today’s Photo of the Day comes to us from Tyler Westcott who you may remember also had his awesome panoramic of Cathedral Lake and Jeffrey Pine at Dusk featured as Photo of the Day.

I think the thing that drew me to this photo the most was the brilliant blues of the sky and landscape that portray the coldness of the snow and weather while the light tones of El Cap make it feel just that much cooler.

Nice shot Tyler.

  1. Wow! When I saw this I was scratching my head wondering where this was taken, because the vantage looks so far away from El Cap. Tylers description (follow the flickr link) of how this was taken is worth a read… a very sophisticated technique.
