Avalanche on Half Dome

Loyd | March 3, 2009

Captured from the Yosemite Association webcams, an avalanche down the face of Half Dome in Yosemite National Park.

Jorma, the fine fellow responsible for the time lapse movies from the Yosemite Association webcams, sent me this cool image he’d noticed. It’s an avalanche down the face of Half Dome that took place on March 1st. Pretty neat.

If you’d like to see the full movie it’s available over on Jorma’s site at: http://halfdome.net/inspiration_pt/2009/tb_2009_03_01.mp4

Thanks for passing that along, Jorma.

Look closely and you can also see the water flowing over Horsetail Fall througout the video.
