More rain and snow is forecast for later this week and we couldn’t be happier! Last year California experienced an abnormally dry year. This year is almost the polar opposite (pun intended) according to Department of Water Resources survey teams who made their first water content report of the year this week.

Yosemite National Park Rangers and Search and Rescue Personnel were called in to assist a climber on El Capitan Monday after he was forced to spend the night on El Capitan in a snow storm.

Increased Chance of El Nino Year May Make for Extremely Wet Winter in Yosemite
Forecasters at the US Climate Prediction Centre (CPC) are citing warming ocean temperatures as a signal that El Nino could strike as early as the third quarter of 2012, raising prospects of wreaking weather havoc from North and South America to Asia.
