Tioga Road by Florencia Marchetti

Tioga Road Open to Bicycles

The rumor has been confirmed the Tioga Road is open to bicycles. That means it’ll be a short time now and then cars will be allowed through.

Tioga Road: The Tioga Road has been plowed, but much work remains, including significant road repairs and rock removal, along with plowing of parking lots, side roads, and clearing of ditches. The Tioga Road opens to bicycles (but not vehicles) on Saturday, April 28. There is no estimate when the Tioga Road may open to vehicles.

How long does the facility maintenance normally take in order to open the road? Heading out May 7th from Salt Lake, and would LOVE to save 4 hours of driving.

Depends on how much work needs to be done Greg. If they’re letting bicycles through it’s probably culvert work or fixing spots in the pavement that bikes can be walked around. Keep your fingers crossed and keep your eyes on the blog. We’ll post something as soon as we know more.
