The Benefits of Rain – Yosemite Falls Flowing Again

Ominous looking thunderstorm over North and Half Dome. Photo by Jill.

One good thing about the rain is it makes all the waterfalls flow again. Edie (@ambitious_wench) is reporting Yosemite Falls, Sentinel, Horsetail, Arches and a ton of other waterfalls are flowing again. I can already think of a few locations that’ll be nice to shoot fall color with Yosemite Fall in the frame if there’s any leaves that haven’t been beat off the trees with this rain.

I wish I could make it up to the valley. This was one of my favorite times to be there. The campgrounds are slowing down because kids are back in school and there are less people in the park as a whole. I loved taking bike rides around the valley on my days off and not having to worry about dodging 1000 cars. I wonder if the maple tree across from the chapel has changed color.

Hopfully the falls will run for a few weeks. It was good to see a good rain, should help with the fire season also.
