Happy First Day of Autumn! Glacier Point and Tioga Pass Roads Closed
As of 4pm yesterday the Glacier Point and Tioga Pass roads are closed again due to snow.

Glacier Point Road? Yeah, It’s Open.
Go before the snows start and closes the road. Ok, I’m being super optimistic with that one but don’t wait until the road closes for the winter.

Hetch Hetchy Road and Glacier Point Roads Closed
The Glacier Point Road remains closed to fire activity and back burning operations. The Hetch Hetchy Road is closed due to a rockslide. There is no approximate reopening date for either road at this time. Highway 41, Highway 140 and Highway 120 at both the Tioga Pass entrance and Big Oak Flat entrance are open.

Road and Trail Closures Persist as Fire Operations Continue on the Empire and South Fork Fires
While we’re waiting to see what new fires will pop up after last nights thunderstorm here’s a quick update on the Empire and South Fork Fires.

Highway 41 Open, Glacier Point Road Not So Much
Highway 41 from Oakhurst and Fish Camp has reopened. The Glacier Point Road is closed due to the Empire Fire.

Empire Fire Status and Trail Closures Still in Effect
Trails are closed from Bridalveil Creek Campground at the second junction with the Ostrander trail and from Westfall Meadow to the Deer Camp junction, along Alder Creek.

Due to yesterday’s storm which caught everyone off guard with the amount of rain and snow it dropped, the Tioga and Glacier Point Roads have been closed – temporarily.

Glacier Point Road Opening Tomorrow Night
Even sooner than the rumored Saturday, the Glacier Point Road will be open tomorrow night at 5:00pm.

Yosemite rumor mill is spinning!
Unless there is a storm between now and then, Glacier Pt. Road (and the Gift Store!) will open this Saturday, April 21.
