Severe Weather Advisory Issued for Yosemite Area

The National Weather Service has issued a sever weather advisory for the Yosemite area. Thunder, lightning, heavy rain and hail up to 1″ in diameter are expected.

…THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOPING OVER THE CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN SAN
JOAQUIN VALLEY…
NOCTURNAL THUNDERSTORMS HAVE DEVELOPED OVER KINGS…WESTERN
FRESNO…WESTERN KERN AND SOUTHWESTERN TULARE COUNTIES. THESE
THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING NORTH TO NORTHEAST AT 15 TO 20 MPH.
THESE THUNDERSTORMS ARE PRODUCING LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN…HAIL UP TO
AN INCH IN DIAMETER…DANGEROUS LIGHTNING AND STRONG GUSTY WINDS.
IF A THUNDERSTORM APPROACHES YOUR LOCATION…SEEK SHELTER AT ONCE.
REMEMBER…IF YOU CAN HEAR THUNDER…YOU ARE AT RISK FROM
LIGHTNING.”

    Wow, what a night! We had a serious lightening storm at about 3AM, and we’ve received about 0.5 inches of rain.

    Guess I don’t need to water the garden!
