Sure, you can get park your butt in front of a computer or on the phone and wait hours and weeks until the final moment when you score a permit to drag yourself up the steep side of Half Dome and then have your buddy take a photo of you on his cell phone while precariously perched over the edge of the valley.
Or you can take a hike to the top of Clouds Rest and ditch the crowd and see a view only a few visitors to the park ever see.
