Photo of the Day: Yosemite Chapel in Snow by Robin Black

Yosemite Chapel in Snow, Pre-dawn by Robin Black

I promised last week I’d share the other great photo from Robin Black that I was going to put up for Photo of the Day and I’m a man of my promises. Check out this beautiful shot from Robin titled “Yosemite Chapel in Snow, Pre-dawn”.

Here’s what Robin had to say about the shot:

This is a shot I’ve wanted for awhile, and everything finally came together last weekend to get it: fresh snow in the valley, UNTRACKED snow around the chapel, and nice blue predawn light. We were the first ones at this spot about 30 minutes before sunrise, and had the place to ourselves. It was serene and peaceful and so beautiful.

I was fortunate to find pristine snow when we got here–just as I was packing up to leave, a park worker arrived, tracked across the snow in front of the chapel and swept all the snow off the stairs. Glad I got there before he did! (Flickr)

Beautiful. Simply beautiful. Nice work, Robin.
