Photo of the Day: Vernal and Nevada Fall by Wallace Wade

I’m finally catching up on my email and one of the great photos and emails I came across was this one from Wallace Wade. Here’s what Wallace had to say.

I am a new visitor to both your website and to Yosemite. I went there for the first time last week, June 16-20. I have never been as taken with a location on Earth as I was with Yosemite. Previous National Parks visits have taken me to Acadia, Grand Canyon, and Zion, but Yosemite was by far, the best I’ve seen.

If given the opportunity, I would move there in a heartbeat, bringing the family of 5 along with. After checking the government jobs paper at the library, about the only job they are currently hiring is medical personnel, sadly
I’m not qualified, although my 8 year old so did need medical attention from the med center there. Not from the granite, but from an unruly crowd control stanchion in the lobby of Camp Curry.

On my hike of the Panorama Trail, I snapped this picture of Vernal and Nevada Falls I believe. I’m sure you receive many pictures from this beautiful spot, but I just thought I’d throw this one out as well. I plan on being a regular reader of Yosemite Blog for as long as its there. Of the 495 pictures I took, I think its one of the 100 best. I hope you feel the same.

Hey thanks Wallace. Hope your son is doing all right and I’m glad you had a good time. Thanks also for sending in your great photo.

If you’ve got a photo, story, news tip, or a piece of artwork you’d like to send in, by all means, please do. You can email them to me or send me a link if you have them online somewhere. My email address is Loyd@YosemiteBlog.com. And if you’ve noticed I only spell my name with one ‘L’.

Wallace, we all know exactly how you feel about Yosemite. There’s no other way to explain it except that this sacred place gets into your heart and spirit, and instills a deep longing to always want to return. Thanks to Yosemiteblog for keeping Yosemite close to us until we return once again.
