Photo of the Day: Snowy Merced River by Chuck Cagara

Like the Puzzler on NPR’s Car Talk the Photo of the Day likes to take a hiatus every once in a while. Not to worry though because it’s back with some beautiful new shots of Yosemite and the surrounding area!

The first new Photo of the Day comes to us from Chuck Cagara. Chuck and his wife Marie run Magical Light Photography where you can see some truly beautiful photos.

Photo: A snowy Merced River reflects the surrounding trees and mountains in an almost glass-like surface. Photo by Chuck Cagara.

Chuck said, “Recent snowfall made for a Christmas Card-Perfect scene along the Merced River in Yosemite Valley.”

Thanks for sending in the photo, Chuck! We look forward to seeing more beautiful shots in 2008.

Hey, if you’ve got photos you’d like to share and you don’t mind us using them in conjunction with a post or as Photo of the Day then please, send them in. You can email them directly to my email (Loyd@yosemiteblog.com), send a link to the photo if you have it hosted online already, or if you’re a Flickr user just tag your photo with “yosemiteblogcom”. Thanks to everyone who’s already sent stuff in.

Thanks, Henrik, for the nice comment. I see you have some handsome shots on your web site as well!

You’ll recall the old Kodak advertising slogan, “You press the shutter – we do the rest.”

Well, I’ve amended that for shooting in Yosemite. “You press the shutter – Mother Nature does the rest.”
