Photo of the Day: Half Dome from Sentinel by Edie Howe-Byrne

Today’s Photo of the Day is from our longtime friend Edie. Edie took this beautiful shot up Tenaya Canyon with Half Dome in the mid-ground from Sentinel Dome, one of my favorite places to shoot from.

Edie would like to be with us but she’s currently freezing her butt off on the eastern side of the Sierra in her tent. You can tag along with Edie in her travels by following her on Twitter @Ambitious_wench or by visitng her blog, Little Red Tent. She’s got lots of cool information, narratives and pictures galore. In fact she just reported in from the road via Twitter.

@Ambitious_wench: @THEYosemiteBlog Snowing at Ellery Lake to Tioga Pass kiosk. Roads dry west of Tenaya Lake. Spectacular sunset.”

Beautiful shot, Edie.

Actually, I spent the night in my own room here in Yosemite, Loyd! When I got back to my tent at the Parker Creek campsite, it was coming down freezing rain–not quite snow, but cold and miserable. I opted to pack it up and head back to Yosemite.

Thanks for the plugs in any case.
