Caveat emptor: This contest is a photo rights grab. The official rules state “Submission of your photo constitutes permission to use the photo at the Sponsor’s discretion on thedailygreen.com.”

That means that if you submit a photo, whether it wins or not, it can be used by the Hearst Corporation however they wish, whenever they wish, and NOT PAY YOU.

It the mere *chance* of winning a copy of Ken Burns’ remarkable documentary payment for your image? I think not.

Until the language of the rules is changed dramatically, I will not submit any of my images in exchange for a chance to win a DVD. I’d rather buy a copy and support Ken Burns directly.

Edie, people who sell photos for a living don’t usually enter them in contests for things like dvds or sweatshirts. 😉
