Ben Wong, who we asked for help in finding in the previous post, has been found alive and well thanks to a hikers tip.

Thank you to everyone who helped out and called in.

    Hello
I have enjoyed following you on twitter and reading your blog. We are planning a trip to Yosemite (and other parts of N. California) next summer….early June. We are two families travelling together ….nine total (kids are ages 11 – 20). We love to stay at National Park Lodges, but sometimes they can be really expensive. I have looked at Yosemite Bug – but it seems a bit far from Yosemite – given the travel time. We are day hikers and not campers. We enjoy a good meal at a rustic, historic lodge at the end of the day. Anything that fits that bill. We don’t have to stay in the park – but close would be good.

    Thanks for your help

Kathryn, you might take a look at Evergreen Lodge, on Highway 120. The have cabins and would easily fit your group size. They are located minutes from Hetch Hetchy area of Yosemite and are probably about 45 minutes into the valley. http://www.StayNearYosemite.com has links to them and an number of other choices.

    Have a fantastic holiday!

My family stay at Evergreen Lodge for one night during our visit to Yosemite. We loved it. Our only regret..we didn’t stay longer. The Lodge has a lot to offer for families who want a visit to the park as well as some downtime to enjoy ‘nature’ Definitely worth looking into.
