Horsetail Fall

Here’s another great photo sent in by Chaz.

Horsetail Fall is a thin, fine wisp of ephemera as it courses over the northeast face of El Capitan and, when conditions are just right for two weeks each February, it is illuminated by the cross light of the setting Sun. Sort of our own “Stonehenge at the Solstice.”

While not the equal of Galen Rowell’s 1973 definitive shot, it is still pleasing and I hope you enjoy it. ~Chaz

Fantastic shot. Thanks again, Chaz.
