The fire, dubbed the Hunters Fire for it’s location along Hunters Valley Road, has burned over 500 acres and as of this morning, still uncontained. The fire is burning through mostly Ponderosa Pines and Oak woodlands with lots of dry grass and brush. The fire is burning on the west side of Highway 49 near Bear Valley about 30 miles from the nearest boundary of Yosemite National Park along the Merced River drainage and Lake McClure.

Over 100 homes are under evacuation orders at this time.
