Dan Mitchell:A most ‘excellent’ photographer

Dan Mitchell's excellent shot of Cathedral Peak.

Dan Mitchell’s a great guy and he lent me this awesome picture of Cathedral Peak for Yosemite Blog and I can’t say ‘thank you’ enough. But Dan’s got more than this shot up at his website, Dan Mitchell.org. There’s tons and tons of beautiful photos of Yosemite if you’ve got a few minutes to spare.

My favorites are: Elizabeth Lake August 9th 2004; El Capitan and Half Dome on a cold and windy morning November 21st 2004; Yosemite Valley March 5th 2005; El Capitan and Merced River May 21st 2005; and my most favorite “I wouldn’t mind having a print stuck up inside my office” photo: Glacial Erratics at Olmstead Point August 13th 2004.

On an interesting note…looking at the dates of the photos…there’s been a lot of times when Dan and I have both been in the Park and probably seen each other without realizing it. In fact, the day Dan took the photo above my wife and I were sleeping but a few miles away at the top of Tioga Pass.

So take a look at his site and enjoy the beauty he’s captured.

Thanks again, Dan.
