  • How the Big Meadow Fire Got It’s Start (video)

Someone on NPS Fire happened to have a video camera the day they were setting the Big Meadow Fire and later efforts to get the fire back under control. Or at least it looks like that’s what’s happening. There’s no time stamp or audio on the video so it’s hard to tell. Pretty cool video…

  • Big Meadow Fire Close to Foresta (map)

The National Park Service put up a map showing the Big Meadow fire’s perimeter. As you can see the fire is part way around Foresta. I’m not sure if this are is still burning or has already burned though.

  • Big Meadow Fire Webcam Timelapse (video)

Last video not dramatic enough for you? Mymotherlode took all the webcam images and put them to a music score. Pretty cool! Photo by Mymotherlode.com.

  • Big Meadow Fire from Turtleback (video)

The fire is visible from almost everywhere in the park. Here a visitor stopped beside turtleback dome and caught some video of the fire on the ridge across the river. This really puts into perspective where the fire is. Video by VaskoTV.

  • Flare up!

Wow the air quality cam is taking some pretty impressive shots of the fire as dawn is starting to break. Click the image for a slightly bigger size. That’s some flare up.

  • Big Meadow Fire Continuing to Grow

The Big Meadow fire is continuing to grow with flames now visible on the air quality webcam. Wow! You can see where it’s been and where it is now. Pretty impressive. Going to watch this all day.
