SF Gate: “Yosemite Valley is again being transformed into the showpiece of the world, a waterfall extravaganza. Temperatures reached the 70s last week, jump- starting spring snowmelt from a huge snowpack in the high country — and sending water chutes sailing over the canyon rims.
The annual Yosemite waterfall show will likely last well into early summer and continue at peak flows through April and May.
If it didn’t rain or snow another drop or flake, respectively, for the rest of March, the water content for Yosemite’s high-country snowpack would still be 130 percent of normal for April 1, according to Vickie Mates of Yosemite National Park. As of March 1, the water content of the Tuolumne River drainage was 153 percent of average, Mates said, and the Merced River drainage was 146 percent of normal.”
