Unless you’ve been living in a cave you’ve probably seen this video making it’s rounds on the internet. The video isn’t what’s been making it popular though, it’s the reaction Paul Vasquez (aka YosemiteBear) had that was captured in the audio when he saw the rainbow.
It was just an intense experience. “You could feel the rays, like from the sun or from a heat lamp, only it was rainbow rays. It knocked me down. And that’s why I had that reaction! The camera only captures 40% of the color. You can’t imagine how intense it was.
“It looked like God’s eye looking at me. That’s why I had that reaction, why I said ‘What does this mean?’”

I met Paul for the first time this February while hanging out with Edie Howe watching Horsetail Falls. He’s a pretty intense guy and I totally understand his reaction. He loves all the things in Yosemite.

I really like the auto-tuned version of this:

@Dane – HA! That is freakin’ awesome.
Does anyone know where Paul saw this rainbow? Was it in the foothills, or nowhere near Yosemite? The video says that it was in January, thus I’m certain it’d have to be a long ways from the park …
Mariposa I believe.
