Norsigian Ansel Adams Yosemite Valley

Yosemite Valley Reopening Today at 9:00AM

Although the Ferguson Fire is still burning in the park, Yosemite Valley will reopen at 9:00AM on August 14, 2018. Access to the Valley will be available via Highways 140 and 120. There will be no access between Yosemite Valley and Wawona due to fire operations. Wawona and the Mariposa Grove, the Tioga Road and the Big Oak Flat Road west of Crane Flat have already reopened. Expect limited services parkwide.

The following closures will remain in effect for some time: Wawona Road (continuation of Highway 41) between Wawona and Yosemite Valley, Glacier Point Road, and Merced Grove of Giant Sequoias.

Park guests wishing to visit the Mariposa Grove from Yosemite Valley will need to exit the park on Highway 140, drive to Mariposa, take Highway 49 to Oakhurst and re-enter the park on Highway 41 to the Mariposa Grove. This drive will add about an hour and a half to two hours each way so plan accordingly.

Important: Air quality has been good to moderate in many areas of the park, but has been unhealthy in Yosemite Valley. If recreating in Yosemite Valley, reduce prolonged or heavy exertion and take more breaks during outdoor activities.
