Roads leading into Yosemite have reopened but it’s going to be a few days before the mess left behind from last weeks powerful storm gets cleaned up and full operation of park facilities resume.
Current Conditions
Crews are continuing to work repairing utilities, clearing fallen trees and debris and plowing roads. Limited lodging will be available beginning Friday evening. Campgrounds will remain closed until Monday. Limited food and visitor services are available.
Electricity
The main power transmission line in the Merced River Canyon (Hwy 140) is still down with an estimated repair date of Saturday evening. El Portal, Yosemite Valley, Foresta, and Yosemite West are currently without power. Electricity is being provided by on-site generators where available..
Highways Into the Park
Highway 140, 120, and 41 are all open to the park boundary, check the Caltrans road line at 1-800-427-7623 or visit http://www.dot.ca.gov/ for the most up to date information on road conditions outside the park.
Park Roads
Currently all roads inside the park are open but subject to closure as conditions change. For the most up to date information on road conditions inside the park call 209-372-0200 and press 1 then 1.
Yosemite West
Yosemite West is without water and power. Road access to Yosemite West is limited.
Wawona
Numerous trees have fallen within Wawona and have yet to be cleared.
YARTS
YARTS service will resume on Friday, March 25 with an abbreviated schedule (Runs 2, 3, and 5 into the park and Runs 9, 11, and 12 out of the park will run. Runs 6 and 7 will also operate). YARTS will resume its full schedule on Saturday, March 26.
