Although it is already prominitely featured on the California state commemorative quarter, Yosemite will again be featured on a quarter as part of a special set showcasing our National Parks and Monuments scheduled to debut in April.
The “America the Beautiful” quarters program will produce coins with designs showcasing a national park or other federally preserved area from each state and U.S. territory. A new quarter will be introduced about every 10 weeks for 11 years. Specific release dates and designs have yet to be revealed.
The 56 coins will be issued in the order in which the featured location was first placed under the care of the federal government. Yosemite will be commemorated on the third featured coin.
