Yosemite Falls: Access is Key

I took a little time to explore the renovations the National Park Service had made to the Yosemite Falls viewing area this weekend and I’m impressed.

The new construction not only works well to blend into the environment and preserve as much of the area from human impact as possible, but it moves forward with the NPS’s adoption fair-access policies making it accessible to everyone even those with special needs.

The area is looped in trails and boardwalks that gently slope up to the bridge across Yosemite Creek and the viewing area and there are new markers of stone with bronze reliefs on top and interactive displays to help guide visitors.

Access is available through the new shuttle bus stop or from Yosemite Lodge parking lot directly across Northside Drive.
