Our agent inside the Delaware North Company…we’ll call her Secret Squirrel…ok, it was Theresa…sent me this press release to let everyone know that Delaware North Company, the company who currently runs all the concessionaires services within the park, has changed some of their phone numbers.
YosemitePark.com: “A bank of thirty telephone numbers used by Yosemite concessioner DNC Parks & Resorts’ Fresno, California reservations office changes today as part of a sweeping system modification that will benefit Yosemite guests. In swapping the “559” area code for the new “801” area code, DNC will be able to offer California residents a 12-cent-per-minute savings when they call the Fresno office for lodging reservations and activity information.
“Our entire phone system has been modified with state-of-the-art equipment that will make our guests’ reservation experience much more productive and enjoyable,” said Sandra Levesque, Director of Reservations for DNC Parks & Resorts. “It’s a long time coming and we’re truly excited about the increased level of service we’ll be able to provide.”
The main phone number to DNC’s Central Reservations Office is now 801.559.5000 (formerly 559.252.4848). The new phone system will afford consumers with touch tone selections for ease in transferring between departments and obtaining pre-recorded voice messages regarding directions, weather and other pertinent park information.”
So in case you missed it, if the phone number you have says 559 just replace it with 801 and you’re all set. I’ve heard the 559 numbers will continue to work for a while as word gets out and people make the switch so don’t worry about getting through.

I don’t get it. Area code 801 in Utah.
Hey! I’m willing to be a Secret Squirrel, if it can be a Chickaree – those guys are my favorite!
@Dane – The reservation system for Yosemite also services many other DNC properties, and the company that is helping us manage all of these lines is in UT. It’s OK though – you still get to stay in Yosemite.
