A winter weather advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service from Yosemite To Kings from 11PM PDT Tuesday until 5PM PDT Wednesday.
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN HANFORD HAS ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY ABOVE 6000 FEET FOR SNOW AND STRONG WINDS
WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 11 PM TUESDAY TO 5 PM PDT WEDNESDAY FOR THE SOUTHERN SIERRA NEVADA FROM YOSEMITE TO KINGS CANYON.
SNOW ACCUMULATIONS: 4 TO 6 INCHES ABOVE 6000 FEET6 TO 9 INCHES ABOVE 8000 FEET AND UP TO A FOOT OVER THE HIGH COUNTRY.
ELEVATION: ABOVE 6000 FEET.
TIMING: SNOW WILL BEGIN BY MIDNIGHT TUESDAY NIGHT WITH THE HEAVIEST SNOW LATE TUESDAY NIGHT AND WEDNESDAY MORNING. SNOW WILL DECREASE WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING.
LOCATIONS INCLUDE: SHAVER LAKETUOLUMNE MEADOWS.
WINDS: GUSTS INCREASING TO 80 MPH OVER THE CREST.
IMPACTS: SNOW WILL MAKE TRAVEL DIFFICULT ON MOUNTAIN ROADS ABOVE 6000 FEET. RESIDENTS SHOULD PREPARE FOR WINTER WEATHER CONDITIONS. DRIVERS SHOULD CARRY CHAINS AND BE PREPARED FOR ROAD CLOSURES AND DELAYS. FOR ROAD CONDITIONS
