Watch out if you’re headed to the park this weekend

Looks like we’re in for another bashing my Mother Nature. Here’s the latest from the National Weather Service.

A FAST MOVING DISTURBANCE WILL BRING THE THREAT OF PRECIPITATION BACK TO THE SOUTHERN SIERRA NEVADA FRIDAY NIGHT AND SATURDAY.

A COLD FRONT WILL CROSS CENTRAL CALIFORNIA BEGINNING FRIDAY NIGHT. RAIN AND HIGHER ELEVATION SNOW WILL DEVELOP NEAR YOSEMITE LATE FRIDAY EVENING AND SPREAD SOUTHWARD OVERNIGHT. SNOW LEVELS WILL INITIALLY BE FAIRLY HIGH AROUND 6500 FEET…BUT WILL LOWER TO AROUND 5500 FEET BY SATURDAY MORNING.

SNOW AMOUNTS WILL GENERALLY RANGE FROM 3 TO 6 INCHES…BUT COULD BE AS MUCH AS 10 INCHES ABOVE 7000 FEET IN THE YOSEMITE PARK AREA. LESSER AMOUNTS CAN BE EXPECTED SOUTHWARD TOWARD KINGS CANYON. PRECIPITATION WILL TAPER TO SHOWERS BY SATURDAY AFTERNOON BEFORE DIMINISHING LATE SATURDAY NIGHT.
