Want To Do Something Different? Go Rafting!

Most people don’t associate Yosemite with white water rafting but hey, some of the best white water in California is just outside the park and this year construction projects up river mean you’ll be able to raft all summer long!

Zephyr White Water Expeditions: Due to the lowering of upstream reservoirs for routine maintenance (done about once every 10 years), the Tuolumne will have excellent raftable water all summer long…and even most Sundays. Plus no high water trip cancellations in May and June due to the below average snowpack in California this year.

The Tuolumne is a magical 18 mile corridor, boasting long, tantalizing class IV rapids, wondrous side creeks and wide, sandy beaches for camping. Unlike most of our other river trips, the Tuolumne river is not accessible by road during the entire trip. Thus, all necessary gear is taken with us on the rafts. Rapids such as Rams Head, Steamboat, Cabin, Hells Kitchen and the granddaddy of them all, Clavey Falls, will stir the blood of any rafter, veteran or novice.

Zephyr White Water Expeditions is a local company located just outside Yosemite that specializes in providing fun, safe white water trips down some of America’s best rivers for rafting.

I talked to Bob at Zephyr and trips are scheduled to run at least through September 3rd but probably through the 16th.
