During the second day of our backpacking trip along the John Muir trail, we scaled Cathedral Peak. We pretty much hiked it from the John Muir Trail and headed south to the SE Buttress Trail. Soon we came upon the north slope and ascended that way. Unfortunately, our small rope was frayed on the way up and didnt want to take the risk on the last 15 feet to the peak.
