It’s official, for all you who have been waiting patiently, the Tioga Road is opening today at noon. For the uninitiated, the Tioga Road winds just north of Yosemite Valley connecting the Big Oak Flat Road and Highway 395. It’s a seasonal pass that takes you right through the heart of Yosemite’s back country and the High Sierra. It’s a great way to see some of the most beautiful scenery in Yosemite, get off the beaten path where summertime crowds seldom dare to venture, and to escape the heat of Yosemite Valley and the low lands.
