The Tioga Road is closed from White Wolf to Crane Flat. If you were planning to cross the Sierra through Tioga Pass head north on Highway 395 to Bridgeport. Be sure to get gas in Bridgeport if you haven’t already. Continue north until you come to the 108/395 Junction. Turn left and take Highway 108 over very beautiful and scenic Sonora Pass. Continue on 120 to Sonora. If your destination is San Francisco or Southern California take Highway 108 to Oakdale and then on to Manteca. If you wish to enter Yosemite you’ll need to drive to Highway 49 then take Highway 49 to Mariposa. There is no entrance to Yosemite on 120 from either direction.

Oh, contraire, my friend. Hetch Hetchy, which just happens to be in Yosemite is only accessible from this section of Highway 120. So too is true of hogdon Meadows and the Merced Grove of Big Trees.

People go there? Hetch what? Oh! That big DAM San Francisco put up! I remember that place now. The place with all the rattlesnakes. People go there?
By the way the drive all the way around to 140 is totally worth it if you’re staying at the Hotel Charlotte.
“There is no entrance to Yosemite on 120 from either direction.” You do mean Yosemite Valley, don’t you?
The Tioga Road is closed. No through traffic. You can enter 120 from the east but can’t go past White Wolf. You can enter 120 from the west but can’t go past Merced Grove.
