Does anyone know if Tamarack Flat Campground burned during the fire? It is just about the only campground in the park in the last 25 years that has actually expanded. Most every other campground has either been down sized or closed. Soda Springs, Glacier Point, Smokey Jack, Upper and Lower Rivers, Muir Tree Walk-in have all been closed, never to reopen. T Meadows used to have amost 400 sites, but now 300. North Pines has been cut in half.
According to the so called “Master Plan of 1980”, and that’s now 29 years ago, new campground where to be built.
