Thank God for The Highwayman

Chains are as important when traveling in the mountains in winter as the close you wear to protect you from the cold. If you’re planning on making a trip to Yosemite this winter it’s not only recommended you carry chains, it’s required by law.

If you live in Southern California you’re in luck though, you’re in the realm of The Highwayman. No he’s not a crook of old, he’s a saviour in an old ambulance (no it’s not the Ghostbuster mobile but it sure looks like it) there to help you and keep you from getting stuck in the snow. With his faithful sidekick Sheila, The Highwayman has been a guardian angel for stuck and stranded motorists he encounters in his troubles. Don’t worry though, if you meet The Highwayman he’s not going to take your money. He doesn’t do it for pay.

The Highwayman earns his living by helping people fit tire chains to their car. I know, it seems a bit weird being as he’s located in sunny and warm El Cajon but the best place to learn to chain your vehicle is before you need it. Trust me, you don’t want to try learning how to chain up in the cold, wet snow.

Oh sure, you could go to a big box store and save a few bucks on the chains but have you ever tried reading those directions? They’re not easy to understand. That’s where The Highwayman comes in. He has chains to fit whatever you’re driving, from your Saturn, or Mercedes all the way up to your SUV with oversize tires. He custom fits the chains for you, teaching you how to put them on, giving you the tools and knowledge to install them when you need. That’s peace of mind you’re not going to get in one of those big box stores.

He also has gear to help you install. He’s got tools, gloves, and a wealth of knowledge that you can only get one place, experience. There’s also fun sleds, snokarts and tobboggons for the kids to use when you finally get to your destination.

Don’t try to buy online though, The Highwayman only works his magic in person. How else could he help you find exactly what you need for your vehicle? He takes appointments from 8am to 9pm 7 days a week and gives you all the time you need to learn how to chain up your vehicle right.

Contact The Highwayman and see what he can do for you or, if you’ve ever been helped by a good samaritan and would like to pass along a good deed, he accepts donations of fuel, gear, and (if you’re really gracious) he could use a new vehicle to carry on his mission to save stranded motorists.

You can read more about The Highwayman and his mission to save stranded motorists at his website (http://hometown.aol.com keyword: snowtraction).

Oh! And don’t fret if you live in Northern California. He’s even had people from as far away as Arizona and Sacramento come to see him.
