Spring Storm Bringing More Rain – Some Snow

…UNSETTLED AND COOLER WEATHER TO RETURN TO THE INTERIOR OF NORTHERN CALIFORNIA MONDAY… AFTER SEVERAL PLEASANT SPRING WEATHER DAYS OVER INTERIOR NORTHERN CALIFORNIA…COOL AND SHOWERY WEATHER IS FORECAST TO RETURN TO THE AREA ON MONDAY. NUMEROUS SHOWERS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP OVER THE INTERIOR NORTHERN CALIFORNIA BY MONDAY AFTERNOON…AND POSSIBLY CONTINUING THROUGH MONDAY NIGHT. ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS MAY ALSO DEVELOP OVER PARTS OF THE AREA MONDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH MONDAY EVENING. SNOW LEVELS WILL BE ABOVE THE MAJOR HIGHWAY MOUNTAIN PASSES MONDAY MORNING…BUT WILL GRADUALLY LOWER TO AROUND 6000 FEET MONDAY AFTERNOON…RESULTING IN SEVERAL INCHES OF SNOW ON ROADWAYS OVER THE PASSES. THE HEAVIEST SNOWFALL SHOULD OCCUR DURING THE AFTERNOON THROUGH EARLY EVENING HOURS. RAINFALL AMOUNTS IN THE VALLEY COULD VARY WIDELY…RANGING FROM LESS THAN A TENTH OF AN INCH TO ONE-QUARTER TO A HALF AN INCH IN SOME LOCATIONS. THE WEST SLOPE OF THE NORTHERN SIERRA WILL LIKELY BE A LITTLE WETTER…WITH AMOUNTS BETWEEN ONE HALF AND ONE INCH OF RAIN POSSIBLE AT SOME LOCATIONS. LINGERING SHOWERS WILL END ON TUESDAY. IN ADDITION…DAYTIME TEMPERATURES WILL BE MUCH COOLER ON MONDAY…GENERALLY 10 TO 15 DEGREES COOLER THAN ON SUNDAY.
