To coincide with the one year birthday of Yosemite Blog I’ve instituted some changes. If you’re reading this on the site you will have already noticed the new look. If you haven’t been to the site I urge you go check it out now.
I switched the software that runs Yosemite Blog from MovableType to WordPress. This was due in part to the large number of spam comments I’ve been receiving in recent weeks and the increased functionality that the switch to WordPress brings.
If you look in the sidebar you’ll now notice a large column of photos from the Flickr Yosemite group. You’ll also see that I’ve added a blogroll for Friends of Yosemite Blog as well as Yosemite Links. To the contact information I’ve added my screen names for AOL, MSN, and Yahoo!. Feel free to contact me if you should see me online.
Another feature I’ve added is a button to automatically subscribe to Yosemite Blog for those of you that use Yahoo! content syndication service.
One of the final features you’ll want to check out is the new “Pages” section. WordPress allows you to not only write blog posts but traditional web pages also. For instance, here I’ve moved the Important Yosemite Phone Numbers from the sidebar of the old site and put them on their own page. This will make it easy for you to print and take with you when traveling.
To all of you who link to pages within the site I tried to get redirects working so you shouldn’t notice too much. There might still be some potholes but I’m working on instrumenting fixes as quickly as possible so please bear with me.
Thank you everyone for your support over the last year. You’re awesome!
