Snow Forecast For Yosemite Through This Weekend

There’s a severe storm warning in effect over the next couple of days with snow levels predicted to drop to around 6500 feet. This shouldn’t affect traffic coming in on Highway 140 very much but it’s likely those coming from Oakhurs/Wawona on Highway 41 or from Groveland/Big Oak Flat on the Big Oak Flat road will need chains at some point. If you’re coming into the park take extra blankets, food and water in case you spin out in the snow and be sure to tell a friend which route your taking and leave a time they should notifiy authorities if you don’t call them. Update:

It’s been raining steadily here for the past two days–Horsetail falls is in full swing, with a second fall to the left, or west of the main falls as of 10 AM this morning. Once this all clears, we are going to have some spectacular images of the natural firefalls!

    Woot!
