Watching the radar right now there’s snow down to Groveland, Oakhurst, Mariposa, Coulterville and on all roads leading into the park.
The Central Valley is getting a mixture of rain and snow along the Highway 120 corridor from Pleasanton in the Bay Area to the foothills.
If you’re heading into the park today expect to chain up and watch for black ice. If you’re coming in on Highway 140 from Mariposa drive slow along the Merced and watch for falling rocks and rocks in the roadway. Cold, wet weather causes ice to build up behind rocks and weakens their positioning.
