Ok, so this isn’t the first time we’ve had a little snow and it’s not the first time the passes have closed in the last few weeks but it is the first major winter storm of the season and it’s packing a punch. Snow is expected down to 5000 feet with accumulations up to 2 feet above 7000 feet. That doesn’t sound like much but it’s a very wet storm and it’s bringing with it LOTS of rain. Rain that we really need.
The storm is expected to continue through the middle of the week moving southward to bring rain and snow to the parched Southern Sierra tomorrow and Wednesday.
Passes may or may not reopen depending upon actual snow accumulation and melting.
