Save Water. It’s a Good Idea

This years drier than normal winter means water is in short supply this summer. In several areas flush toilets have been already replaced by portolets in an effort to conserve water. If you’re going to be staying in Yosemite over the next couple of months here’s how you can do your part to help conserve.

Take Shorter Showers
Though the cool shower may feel good after a long hike by taking a shorter shower you can save a lot of water.

Don’t Run the Sink/Shower When Not Necessary
Turn the water off when shaving or brushing your teeth.

Bring as Much Water with You as Possible
Bring as much potable water as you can into the park.

Report Broken/Leaky Faucets, Toilets and Showers
If you’re staying in a hotel let the hotel staff know if there is a problem with the plumbing in your room.

Most of the facilities in the park are already equipped with water saving devices including shower heads and aerators but we can all help save even more. How many more ways can you think of to help conserve water in the park?
