Santa’s on His Way to the Yosemite Area

If you’re in Yosemite this weekend be sure to grab the kids and head over to Mariposa on Saturday for the 10th annual Merry Mountain Christmas Festival and Parade where you can get great food, have lots of fun, see the parade and let the kids meet Santa Claus.

Yosemite Mariposa.com: “The festivities begin on Friday, Dec. 7 when Mariposa welcomes the Shriners at the Best Western banquet room from 4 to 6 p.m. with a Chamber ‘business after hours’ celebration, prize drawing, food, no-host bar and more.

On Saturday, Dec. 8, breakfast is served at Mariposa Masonic Lodge #24 (5154 Jones Street) from 6 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. for $10 (children 11 & under are free).  The Mariposa Merchants will hold a treasure hunt from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The Merry Mountain Christmas Parade starts at 11 a.m. and travels along State Route 140.  Lunch is served by the Merced-Mariposa Shriners from noon to 2 p.m. for $10 (children 11 & under are free) with parade awards presentation at 2:15 p.m.

Bonfires, the lighting of the Christmas Tree, caroling, and Santa Claus arrives with goodies after 4:30 p.m.”
