Rock Fall Destroys Curry Tent Cabing – No Injuries Reported

A rockfall in Yosemite National Park destroyed one of the tent cabins in Curry Village this afternoon. Luckily the tent was vacant at the time and no campers in the surrounding tents were injured.

The National Park Service is reporting that the fall took place at around 2:28 p.m., and there is “recurring rockfall.”

The entire permiter of the cabin area has been closed, but no roads or other businesses are affected. The area will continue to be monitored until a complete assessment of the situation can be made. The area of the fall is near Staircase Fall where a similar occurrence took place last year.

We’ll keep you posted as more information flows in.
