So yesterday I posted a video called about the Big Meadow Fire that showed the NPS fire crews setting the fire then the fire getting out of control an d finally the fight to put out the fire. Hopefully enough of you got to see the video because if you return to the post (https://yosemiteblog.com/2009/08/28/how-the-big-meadow-fire-got-its-start-video/) now and click on the video you’ll see the video has been pulled and is no longer viewable.
Oh well. Not sure as to the exact reason. Maybe CYA, maybe there was something we weren’t supposed to see. Until the video is put back up or the author comes forward I guess we’ll never know.

I’d bet anything the user was told to remove it. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to see it.
None of my contacts in NPS know what happened.
So, can someone tell us whose brilliant idea it was to start a “controlled fire” at the HEIGHT of fire season, with all of Northern California drier than dry, with thousands of acres of kindling surrounding the area? I live just outside Yosemite and am suffering like a dog from the rotten air quality here. What gives?
