Today’s Photo of the Day is a little different shot of Half Dome. Paul Davis sent this photo his daughters teacher, Griff Joyce, took on the top of Mount Hoffman. No, Half Dome isn’t really that close it’s just a BA telephoto.
“High speed sport camera from about a hundred yards away with the biggest telephoto lens I have ever seen in person. Half Dome is NOT that close. It’s a telephoto lens/distance from subject thing.
We did the trip to Mt. Hoffman JUST to get that shot. It worked like a charm.” – Griff Joyce
Awesome stuff Griff. Thanks for sending it in Paul.

Where exactly was this taken? I’d like to recreate this shot!
That is a really wonderful shot – one of the most original Half Dome shots in every way, including the location from which it was shot.
What a creative photograph! Thank you for sharing Griff Joyce!
