Today’s Photo of the Day is a beautiful shot of Lembert Dome in Tuolumne Meadows by Sathish J on Flickr. Here is what Sathish had to say about his photo:
“Another gem in Yosemite is the Tuolumne Meadows and the Tioga Pass Area.
Not oft visited by the populace jostling for space in the crowded valley, the Tuolumne Meadows is a haven during the summer time where the wide open space of lush green meadows and the gentle Tuolumne river meandering through can provide for many a calming moment.
And the somewhat frequent afternoon thunderstorms set stage for some wonderful sunsets in the meadow.
Here is one such example – taken from near the Tuolumne Meadows Campground looking at a reflection of Lembert dome on a calm section of the river during a beautiful sunset.
It was bliss.
Inspite of the hundreds of mosquitoes haranguing me.
Inspite of my aching calves after having done a 14.5 mile hike to Clouds Rest
Inspite of the cold and dry weather which I was not exactly prepared for….Oh, how I wish I could go back there.”
Great shot. Nicely done.

Well, I am heading there in a couple of weeks, with the hope of getting a walk-in. Lets see how that goes.
The best part about that trip where I got this shot – I got stuck in a hailstorm the next day….
