Today’s Photo of the Day is a really cool shot by Jason Armstrong (aka The Man in Red on Flickr) of Upper Yosemite Fall and the Merced River. What drew me to this photo was the way Jason anchored the foreground with the fence and filled the frame with the river. Ok, enough photographer crap…I’m still trying to figure out where Jason was standing when he took the picture. It’s an awesome angle. Jason, wanna share or you going to keep it a secret?

That is a great shot from the swinging bridge. I was there last week and didn’t even think to put the bridge in the foreground!
I don’t think it’s the bridge in the foreground. The bridge rails are flat aren’t they? My guess is it’s the fence at the end of the bridge near the restrooms and the picnic area under the trees.
That is swinging bridge. Great idea of putting it in the foreground.
Ah yes I see now. I didn’t remember the style of the bridge being like that but I guess it is. I had to look on wikipedia for a photo of the bridge.
Living there off and on for almost a year and a half and I never thought of including the bridge in the picture. From what I remember all of the footbridges (Housekeeping, Superintendants, and the bridges over Vernal and Nevada Falls) are all in the same style.
A little late on the draw but yep this is from the swinging bridge….went there with the intention of getting a star filled sky but I noticed the bridge post seemed to be starring at me so I had to include it 🙂
