Morning Shot July 21 2009

Today’s Morning Shot comes to us from the Mono Lake web cam ran by the Mono Lake Committee. If you’ve never been to Mono Lake then you really have to add it to your list of places to visit. It’s one of the few places in the United States you can actually get out and walk along volcanic craters and then check out the awesome tufa or swim in the salt water lake.

If you have been to Mono Lake and love it then help preserve it. Become a member of the Mono Lake Committee. They’re a great organization who offers classes and walks and works to protect Mono Lake now and in the future.

Today’s forecast: Hot and sunny. High 100F. Overnight Low 60F. Possible chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon.

Did you know? Bears recognize the shape of your ice chest and equate it with food? Never leave an ice chest out in the open. Keep it stored in your bear locker removing it only long enough to get what you need out. Then be sure to LOCK. Leaving it unlocked even for a minute is an open invitation for a bear to get a quick snack.
