Morning Shot – July 14 2009

Today’s Yosemite National Park forecast: HOT and sunny! Highs in the mid to upper 90’s. Overnight lows around 59F.

If you’re going hiking today start early, finish early. It’s going to be hot, hot, hot and exposed granite only makes it worse. Drink a quart of water before you start hiking and drink to stay hydrated. Wear plenty of sunscreen and polarized sunglasses.

You can escape the heat by heading up to Tuolumne Meadows where it can be 10-15 degrees cooler.
